The Power of the Prophetic Word

“This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightiest war a good warfare.” -1 Timothy 1:18 (KJV)

Did you know that not every man of God is authorized to speak to your life? There are specific men whom God calls and authorizes to utter the prophetic voice for your progress. Such men are given as a covenant to you and when they speak (or prophesy) your life changes forever (Isaiah 49:8-9). Therefore, you must search for the men who carry your prophetic word.

What’s prophecy anyway? It is foretelling. It is not looking into the past and speaking of the same. It is looking into and speaking of the future. After all, God boasts in knowing the future. (Isaiah 48:5). Hence, if you have a prophecy, you have a future— your future is guaranteed when you have a prophetic word.

Apostle Paul in the verse above charges Timothy to wage good warfare by the prophetic intimations which he received. In other words, when you are going into the field to do your daily business don’t forget the prophetic voice over your life. You’ll have an easy ride on life— undenied in all things— and make tremendous progress if you identify, embrace and honor the prophetic voice of His men servants— the men whom God entrusted with your prophetic voice.

Dear Heavenly Father. Would you open my eyes to see those men whom you’ve entrusted with your prophetic voice towards me. That’s the secret to my success in life. In the name of Jesus.
